Alex Duncan"Spread My Wings " (in progress)
Music and Lyrics by Alex Duncan 2007

  1. Take It Back (April 2007) MP3
  2. Tell It Out Loud (April 2007) MP3
  3. Wondering (April 2007) MP3

Ten years ago I quit the band Giants For A Day to return to Glasgow to do a PhD in Electronics with Music. I promised that my next project would be a solo album recorded at home. Now, 10 years later, I am starting to turn that promise into a reality. It's a bit rusty - but hey! I have hardly played since I left the band (making a family took priority). But now, with the sleepless nights and nappy changing definitely over, I have a burning itch that needs to be scratched... I hope you like the result.

Alex DuncanGiants For a Day "Inside Out" EP
Music and Lyrics by Alex Duncan (except 'Can't Work' lyrics by James Allan) 1997

  1. 24th Avenue (1997) MP3
  2. Inside Out (1997) MP3
  3. Can't Work (1997) MP3
  4. Daylight Robbery (1997) MP3
  5. Fast Lane (1997) MP3

My first real recording project (if you don't count various university live gigs that were taped but too cringe-worthy to take any further. After just under ayear on the North East of Scotland circuit, we ended up with 24th Avenue playing on Northsound Radio and a support gig at The Lemon Tree. It was a blast. Everyone in the band except me and James (rhythm guitars) was in a full time job.

EmbryonicAlex Duncan "Embryonic"
Music and Lyrics by Alex Duncan

  1. Night Train (1998 - 2006) MP3
  2. Funky Blues (1998 - 2006) MP3
  3. Techno Blues (1998 - 2006) MP3
  4. Like An Angel (1998 - 2006) MP3
  5. Little Blue Top (1998 - 2006) MP3

Somewhere in-between "Inside Out" and my new (in progress) solo album, I have collected a bunch of half-baked numbers that somehow express what I was hoping to move towards in the coming years. It will be interesting to see where the new project goes and whether you can spot the link between musical sketches spanning the last 10 years... Note - these are unfinished works!
